Tuna fishing in Barcelona only 10 minutes off the coast?

Tuna fishing in Barcelona

Like every year, the Bluefin Tuna visit the coasts of Barcelona, Garraf and Sitges and we have the privilege to target this fantastic predator at very short distances from the shore. The port of Aiguadolç in Sitges has the perfect location to fish for tuna casting because the fishing areas with 50-60m depth are only 10 minutes sailing from the marina. Got tuna fishing in Barcelona and experience the world’s strongest fighter!

In Sitges we offer guided tuna fishing tours including an expert tuna fishing guide, special equipment (Yuki rods & lures, Shimano Stella, Daiwa Saltiga reels, etc), fuel & licenses. As the fishing areas aren’t too far off the coats, you can do a short afternoon trip. Book a tuna fishing trip in Sitges.

If you have your own boating license, you can also rent a centre console boat to chase the tunas. We have a Key Largo 19 available from 155€, and also a Flyer 650 from Bénéteau with 200cv outboard for only 265€. Bear in mind that these prices are rental prices and don’t included fuel, tackle, fishing licenses or guide.

Don’t miss out, book your boat because the tunas are here!

Fishing in Barcelona in late April and May is famous because of the bluefin tuna. During the last few years there has been an increase in bluefin tuna weighing between 20kg and 50kg. These predators are coming ever closer to the coast of Barcelona, which is excellent news for enthusiasts of spin fishing in Barcelona. When the bluefin tuna hunts on the surface you can fish by casting large spinning lures. Once close enough to the tuna, spears poppers, stick baits or soft baits can be used to catch it. You need strong gear for tuna fishing like special Yuki, Shimano or Daiwa rods and reels, braided 60-80lb main line, strong leaders and… strong arms! Tuna fishing with casting gear is one of the most exciting fishing you can do in the Mediterranean Sea.
